Johannesburg-Sandton

Sandton is an upscale commercial and residential district north of the city of JohannesburgSouth Africa. It forms part of the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality. The name of the town came from the combination of two of its suburbs, Sandown and Bryanston. In 1969, Sandton was promulgated as a municipality in its own right, but lost its status as an independent town after the re-organization of South African local governments after Apartheid ended.

Known as ‘Africa’s richest square mile’, Sandton has headed upward with a barrage of Manhattan-style skyscrapers that function as landmarks throughout Johannesburg, particularly Sandton City’s pyramid-style rooftop.

For 2024, AISA will be moving our destination from the Montecasino Complex to Downtown Sandton City. The price differential will be minimal from AISA 2022 and this move will give our guests many more shopping, dining, and nightlife options within walking distance of all our hotels. As we bid adios to Montecasino, please understand that our stay at all of their hotels was amazing and they left no stone unturned in making our stay one to remember. Feel free to peruse the Johannesburg pictures graciously shared by our guests from 2022 in the slideshow below.
