Durban

Durban, the third largest city in South Africa with a population of 3.1 million, sits right on the Indian Ocean and is home to the Golden Mile string of beaches, which are a glorious sight to see. Ushaka Marine World & Aquarium, Umhlanga Rocks, and Moses Mabhida World Cup Stadium lead a long list of attractions that make our final destination on our journey one to remember. In Durban, we’ll be staying at the Suncoast Casino Complex which houses two hotels, Sunsquare Suncoast and Suncoast Towers, while also staying at our third hotel, the Southern Sun Elangeni & Maharani, which is a mere 0.9 miles down the beach from the Suncoast Casino complex

UPDATE!!!

Due to the high demand of hotel rooms on the Durban oceanfront during our stay, which includes New Years Eve, two of our initial three hotels, The Suncoast Towers and The Sunsquare Suncoast, have now sold out! The Southern Sun Elangeni & Maharani is now requiring full payment upon booking to secure your stay. We have now secured a block of rooms at several hotels along the Golden Mile beachfront and we’re taking bookings now. The Blue Waters Hotel, The Belaire Suites, The Palace, The Edward Hotel, and The Capitol Pearls. Unfortunately, due to NYE being one of the dates of our 5 night stay, most of the hotels on the Golden Mile beachfront are now requiring 50% of your total price as a deposit. This is only for the Durban hotels. The Johannesburg and Cape Town hotels are still only requiring $100 deposits for our dates in those cities.

Suncoast Casino Complex

Suncoast Casino, Hotels and Entertainment is an entertainment complex situated at the northern end of Durban’s Golden Mile, adjacent to the Kings Park Sporting Precinct. Besides the casino, the complex houses many restaurants, a beach bar, cinemas and its own semi-private beach, which was rated as one of the top 3 beaches in South Africa. The design of the complex is aimed to complement the vast art deco heritage that is found across Durban. Suncoast houses the largest Casino complex in South Africa.
